I need to get film transferred to a digital format for editing on my pc. I don't want to do the home projection thing b/c I don't have a projector or a video camera. All I got is my little old super 8.
That being said, where can I get a digital transfer onto a cd or dvd? Everyone transfer service I see transfers to dv or mini dv. I don't have a digital camera at all, so how can I get the files on my computer? I can get the film transferred to vhs, but then I lose a generation when uploading to my computer, and I have to by a more expensive capture card for my pc.
Any help is appreciated

I'd suggest purchasing a cheap miniDV camera and have your film transfered to...miniDv...via Posthouse (www.cinepost.com) in Atlanta. I'm not sure what you plan to do with this film, but if you are so adamant about the transfer being digital I can only assume that its something special. And if its something special, I'd make the investment. I got a Canon off of ebay for about $350 when I found myself in a similar situation. When I asked posthouse about transfering to DVD they said its pretty expensive, though I don't recall why. They suggested I purchase a cheap miniDv camera. However, the transfer was for a documentary that I did, so I was willing to invest....your call.

I had 28 rolls of kodachrome 40 transfered to miniDV on a rank through posthouse. Including the transfer, the putting onto 400 ft. rolls, the two miniDV tapes, and shipping back to me came to $363.50 and I was very happy with the quality.
